MKC Karate in Elkridge, MD is a Certified DKI School and Maryland KJK Representative preserving the Classical teachings of Okinawan Karate (Ryukyu Kempo). The martial arts studio offers karate classes and self defense classes under the direction of Head Instructor GM Patrick Bast (7th Degree Black Belt).

Fundamental bio-mechanics are the foundation of our study. As a result of this approach we are highly successful in giving clients immediate results regardless of their experience, style or system. Simply put, it works!

Sound Principles are at the core of everything we do. We refer to these as Universal Truths as they apply to everybody in every situation. Stressing sound body mechanics, situational awareness, proper mindset and anatomical pressure point targeting (kyusho jitsu). We strongly believe that even gross motor skills can become devastating self defense methods with the proper guidance, training, and attitude.
